Where is Impact Wrkshp located?

In light of the current Covid-19 health crisis, Impact Wrkshp is currently hosting virtual fellowships only. Applicants from around the country are encouraged to apply and participate remotely.

Who is eligible to apply for the Impact Fellowship?

All female students or recent graduates of design programs in interior design | architecture | industrial | exhibition design | furniture design | are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students who have completed at minimum (2) semesters of design studio courses prior to applying. Apply here.

How does the Impact Fellowship work?

Fellows work together on the design + build of a collaborative impact project over the course of 12 weeks. Meetings take the form of virtual design workshops which take fellows through research, ideation, design development, presentation, and prototyping of a group impact proposal. Workshops culminate in (2) Virtual Pitch Day events during which fellows present their design progress to the community at large. Working directly with our team of advisers, partners, and design directors, fellows are exposed to a network of industry leaders, community activists, and student change-makers, and see first hand how design tools can be used to uplift community one project at a time.

Is the Impact Fellowship a full time commitment?

Given the accelerated nature of each fellowship cycle, participants are expected to dedicate a substantial amount of time to the development of their project. Impact fellows are not permitted to pursue full time employment during the 12 week program. Concurrent part-time employment is possible, so long as fellows are able to attend all virtual workshops and impact events. Participants should expect to meet virtually for 3 hours 2-3 days a week, from June 01-August 21. Exact schedule is distributed at the start of each fellowship cycle.

Is the Impact Fellowship paid?

Yes! In addition to covering all project related material + fabrication expenses, Impact Wrkshp awards each fellowship recipient with a monetary stipend.
